ClearABN shows Australian Business Register facts and the result of an ABN checksum. It does not provide tax, legal or financial advice. Links go to the ATO and the Australian Business Register so you can read their pages yourself.
What you get
A valid result shows whether the ABR lists the ABN as active or cancelled, the date that status took effect, the entity type, state and postcode, business names, and whether GST registration is current. It does not say whether you should withhold an amount or claim a credit. Those questions belong on the ATO pages linked from the result.
