Is this ABN lookup free?
Yes. Single ABN lookups are free and need no account. To check a whole supplier list, upload it on the bulk check page, where the first 25 suppliers per check are free.
Where does the information come from?
The Australian Business Register (ABR) web services. ClearABN checks the ABN's check digits first, then reads the register. Results may be cached for about 24 hours.
What does a cancelled ABN mean?
The register lists the ABN as cancelled from the date shown. ClearABN shows the register facts only. The ATO's pages explain what that may mean for you.
Can I check whether a supplier is registered for GST?
Yes. The result shows whether GST registration is current and the dates the register holds.
Is this tax advice?
No. ClearABN shows register information and the checksum result. It does not tell you whether to withhold or claim anything.
